Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas in a contract-to-permanent position. This onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced accounting environment and can manage high-volume invoice activity with accuracy. The role focuses on supporting daily payables operations, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely expense and reporting processes.

Responsibilities:
• Process a steady volume of daily invoices while verifying accuracy, approvals, and proper account coding.
• Review and enter both purchase order and non-purchase order invoices in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain vendor records by updating account details and resolving discrepancies to support accurate payments.
• Handle expense report processing through Concur and ensure submissions meet policy and documentation requirements.
• Prepare weekly accounts payable aging reports and highlight outstanding items requiring follow-up.
• Support check run activities by organizing payment batches and confirming invoice readiness for disbursement.
• Investigate invoice issues, coordinate with internal teams and vendors, and help drive timely resolution of payment questions.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.
• Ability to manage both PO and non-PO invoices with strong attention to detail.
• Experience supporting check runs and monitoring accounts payable status reports.
• Familiarity with Concur expense processing or similar expense management software.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an onsite work environment.
• Proficiency with standard office and accounting systems, including data entry and record maintenance.

Compensation

$20.00-$23.00 Hourly
