Cost Accountant
This role is integral to providing accurate financial insights, analyzing cost data, and supporting operational decision-making. The ideal candidate is proficient in cost accounting within manufacturing environments and excels in delivering actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with operations teams to conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits, including identifying root causes and providing analytical support.
• Manage the annual standard cost update process, ensuring accurate allocations and cost build-ups.
• Analyze standard costs, margins, and variances to ensure precise production costing.
• Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and engineering teams to refine material, labor, overhead, and other cost components.
• Provide accurate cost data to support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end financial close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with cost-related financial close activities.
• Maintain and update cost drivers, assumptions, and job costing standards, both annually and on an ad-hoc basis.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities by monitoring cost drivers and recommending process improvements.
• Generate and manage daily, weekly, and monthly operational and cost-related reports.
• Act as a trusted resource for operations and leadership, delivering insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
• Expertise in cost analysis and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and journal entry preparation.
• Proficiency in managing and updating costing standards and assumptions.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting findings to leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
