Job Title: Part-Time Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist

Location: Downtown Houston (onsite)

Schedule: Part-time, ~20–25 hours/week (preferred daily schedule, e.g., 10am–2pm)

Start Date: Targeting mid-month (flexibility for earlier start if available)

System: QuickBooks (transitioning to Epicor ERP)

Position Overview:

Seeking a detail-oriented AR/Billing Specialist to support a small, high-visibility accounting team for our client in Downtown Houston on a contract role. This role is primarily focused on collections and daily invoicing, with regular interaction across internal teams and external customers. The position will start part-time and remain part-time, with potential for long-term or permanent conversion depending on business needs post-ERP implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable collections and maintain customer communication
• Prepare and send daily invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances
• Communicate with internal teams (shipping, operations) to obtain required billing support
• Maintain professional written correspondence with customers and leadership (CFO, CEO visibility)
• Support light reporting, including updating a weekly aging file (pre-built in Excel)
• Follow structured AR processes and collection guidelines

Team / Environment:

• Small accounting team of ~6, including AR and AP
• One AR-focused resource (this role) partnered with a separate cash posting specialist
• Highly visible role with interaction across leadership and customers
• Company has grown through acquisitions; processes are being standardized

Qualifications:

Systems & Tools:

• QuickBooks (current)
• Epicor ERP (implementation in progress)
• Light Excel usage (data entry into existing templates)

Qualifications:

• Experience in AR, billing, or collections required
• Strong written communication skills and professionalism
• Ability to manage customer relationships while driving collections
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
• Comfortable in a small, collaborative, and evolving environment

Additional Details:

• Parking is provided (garage or alternative lot depending on vehicle size)
• Role requires onsite presence most days due to daily invoicing needs
• Flexibility for 4–5 days/week schedule; preference for consistent daily coverage
• Potential for role expansion or conversion after ERP transition, but not guaranteed
