Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Montana. This role is ideal for someone who can manage month-end activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure timely reporting. The successful candidate will work across key accounting functions, contributing strong analytical skills and a disciplined approach to reconciliations and ledger accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end close activities by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and investigating variances when needed.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and alignment to accounting standards.
• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Complete bank reconciliations by comparing transactions, identifying exceptions, and following through on corrective action.
• Analyze financial data and supporting records to improve accuracy in reporting and close processes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather documentation, clarify transactions, and support day-to-day accounting needs.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a senior-level or comparable role.
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching variances independently.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping best practices.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.

Compensation

$64.13-$74.25 Hourly
