DevOps Engineer

Hybrid | Austin, TX | Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This individual will partner with engineering and platform teams to improve deployment velocity, system reliability, and overall operational efficiency across cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Manage and provision cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep)
• Automate deployment, scaling, and system monitoring processes
• Implement and manage containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitor system performance and reliability using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic
• Collaborate with development teams to support release management and environment consistency
• Maintain and optimize version control workflows (Git, Bitbucket)
• Ensure security and compliance across infrastructure (secrets management, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning) using tools like Vault, Snyk, or Aqua Security
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure engineering
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform strongly preferred)
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools

Preferred:

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Exposure to serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
• Familiarity with microservices architectures
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VPCs, load balancers, DNS)
