What You Will Do
- Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Social Media Coordinator strategizes for, creates content, posts and manages Southern Illinois University Edwardsvilles social media channels, based on the online behavior of current and prospective students, Alumni, Faculty and Staff, community and business partners.
- The Social Media Coordinator will also monitor account activity and lead the university's efforts to remain relevant, engaging and on the leading edge of social media content that effectively and successfully tells the University's story and communicates the culture of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
-Bachelors degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
-One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
Note: Masters Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
AND
1+ additional year of demonstrated professional experience in creative content production conducted at an established business, organization, agency or non-profit. Experience should cover a variety of media-related responsibilities including social media campaigns, branding and design.
Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelor's in Communications or Bachelor in Fine Arts in Communication Design
OR
-Masters degree in Marketing, Communications, Public relations, Business or a closely related field.
Strong writer, Experience in content or digital marketing Experience in shooting and editing spot videos to drive social posts The Social Media coordinator role requires an individual who is well-versed in social media content creation, analytics, planning and innovation, as well as best practices for the producing of and strategy for both paid and organic social media content.
