Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 5:15pm; hours are subject to change based on the needs of the department and enterprise. May include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Job Summary
This position will support UK Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services operations, with a focus on sterile compounding. Daily job responsibilities include compounding sterile products, inventory management, documentation and maintaining the sterile products area per according to state and federal law, USP 797, USP 800, URAC and ACHC standards. Additionally, this position will follow the scope of standards and polices of UK Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services in relation to at minimum dispensing, procurement, mail order shipping, cold chain distribution, storage, and supply management.
