Job/Position Summary
Under the direction of the Finishing Process Engineering group, the Finishing Process Technician I will need to be familiar with the manufacturing process in HPZT, Hydrophone, and DFS finishing areas. The Finishing Process Tech I will perform final test, input data into control charts for finished material/batch qualifications, update standard work instructions, and support training activities.
Major Areas of Responsibility
• Follow all safety, quality procedures, and work instructions.
• Ability to learn and use 3D printers.
• Collect, input, report data, identify issues and bring it to the next level.
• Maintain manufacturing work instructions and ensure they are updated on a regular basis.
• Maintain housekeeping in the work area.
• Collaborate with others to complete projects.
• Other related duties as directed by management.
Education and Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent is required. 1-year related experience to meet educational requirements can be considered in lieu of education.
• 3 years of direct experience as a finishing operator or in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
• Direct ceramic manufacturing experience a plus.
• Familiar with HPZT, Hydrophone and DFS finishing areas.
• Reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Fundamental knowledge of metrology tools such as OGP, micrometers, calipers etc.
• Basic computer skills to include familiarity with email, excel spreadsheet and word processing.
• Able to work independently or in team environment as necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to manage own workload.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Basic knowledge of SPC or 3D tools a plus.
• Ability to work directly with engineering and production to facilitate obtaining and measuring samples through the finishing production line.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to analyze data results and begin troubleshooting issues and root cause.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical communications skills.
Physical/Working Requirements
• Able to comply with PPE requirements for chemicals usage.
• Ability to move, handle and lift 25 lbs, and pushing carts with samples.
• Extended periods of standing combined with sitting and walking.
• Must be able to go up and down steps.
• Required to use measuring or other analytical tools requiring good near vision.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to moderate noise levels and use of chemicals.
