HR Generalist

Compensation: $85 to $90 Yearly

We are looking for a Contract HR Generalist to support a growing financial services organization in Chicago, Illinois. This role combines day-to-day human resources operations with strategic partnership across employee relations, benefits, talent processes, and people programs for an employee population of approximately 300. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fully on-site environment.


Responsibilities:

• Provide broad human resources support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, policy guidance, and day-to-day HR administration.

• Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations matters, offering sound guidance, documentation, and follow-through on workplace concerns.

• Administer employee benefits programs and help employees understand available offerings, enrollment processes, and related questions.

• Partner with leaders to support people strategies that align workforce needs with business objectives.

• Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HR data entry, reporting, and process integrity within HRIS platforms, including Workday.

• Coordinate and improve onboarding activities to create a smooth and thorough experience for new hires.

• Support talent-related initiatives by collaborating on workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention efforts.

• Ensure HR practices remain compliant with company policies and applicable employment requirements while promoting consistency across the organization.


Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Human Resources Generalist or similar broad HR role.
• Strong background in employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support.
• Hands-on experience using HRIS platforms, with proficiency in Workday preferred.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with effective execution of daily HR operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
• Comfortable working on-site five days per week in Chicago, Illinois.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
