Part-Time Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations for an organization in Nashua, New Hampshire. This is a Part-Time Contract position, offering an opportunity to contribute to day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will bring strong bookkeeping expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage essential accounting tasks in a timely and organized manner.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.

• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, reconciling balances, and resolving discrepancies.

• Assist with year-end close activities, including account analysis and supporting documentation preparation.

• Organize financial records and compile materials needed for audits and other reporting requirements.

• Process routine bookkeeping functions while helping keep accounting operations efficient and compliant.

• Support financial oversight for assigned funds or entities managed by the organization.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify accounting information and address outstanding financial items.

Qualifications:

• Experience in bookkeeping, staff accounting, or a closely related accounting role.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Knowledge of audit preparation and year-end closing procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage financial data accurately.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while meeting deadlines.
• Solid organizational and communication skills.
• Availability to begin work as soon as possible for an ongoing contract assignment.

Compensation

$27.55-$29.15 Hourly
