Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee bank reconciliations for numerous accounts and ensure balances are accurate, timely, and properly documented.
• Maintain existing reconciliation schedules that are already in place while identifying and resolving outstanding discrepancies.
• Develop new reconciliation files and supporting processes for accounts that do not yet have an established framework.
• Assist with the closure of outdated bank accounts and support the setup of new company-owned accounts as needed.
• Handle reconciliation activity for both routine and more complex accounts across multiple entities.
• Contribute to related accounting tasks tied to account setup updates, utility changes, and other integration-related activities.
• Record and review journal entries connected to reconciliation adjustments and general ledger accuracy.
• Provide broader accounting support to help the team manage changing priorities and maintain workflow continuity.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a Staff Accountant or Accountant role with substantial bank reconciliation responsibility.• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume reconciliation work and create organized processes from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and core accounting principles.
• Experience working with corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return support is preferred.
• Familiarity with ORG systems is required, and experience with D365 is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing environment with shifting deadlines and priorities.
• Available to start quickly and contribute with limited ramp-up time.
