Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations in San Francisco, California. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly supported. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close, including payment reviews and reconciliations
- Help track forecasts and provide monthly recoupment updates
- Analyze contracts to pull royalty rates, key terms, and payee details; enter into system
- Handle reporting, analysis, and ad hoc requests
- Manage client communication and shared royalty inbox
- Set up and maintain royalty accounts, including contact and tax info updates
- Partner with development on system enhancements
- Update and review royalty rate changes
- Prepare and check monthly royalty statements for accuracy
- Review team output to ensure setups, statements, and payments are correct
Qualifications:
- Background in music or entertainment preferred
- Experience in accounting or finance
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, formulas, pivot tables)
- Detail-focused with solid communication skills
- Familiar with MS Office and Google Workspace
- Organized with strong administrative abilities
- Handles sensitive information with discretion
- Able to manage multiple tasks and follow through
- Works well independently and with others
- Eager to learn and ask questions
Compensation
