Accounting Analyst-Process Improvement (Contract- Open ended)

Location: San Pablo, CA (Onsite)

Schedule: Full Time, Monday to Friday

This contract opportunity is designed for someone who enjoys improving processes—not just maintaining them. You’ll partner closely with finance leadership to evaluate, redesign, and streamline core accounting workflows across AP, AR, and Payroll.

This is a hands-on role where your input directly shapes operational efficiency, visibility, and scalability.

What You’ll Be Doing

Assess current-state workflows across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll

Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risk points within accounting processes

Design and implement improved workflows to increase accuracy and throughput

Support automation, system optimization, and reporting improvements within an ERP system

Analyze financial and operational data to guide decision-making

Partner cross-functionally with multiple teams

Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and transactional support as needed

Create SOPs and documentation to support long-term sustainability

Qualifications:

What You Bring

Experience in accounting or finance operations (AP, AR, payroll exposure)

Ability to analyze workflows and identify process improvement opportunities

Strong technical and Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems/ERP platforms

Experience with process documentation, reporting, or data analysis

Detail-oriented with a mindset for efficiency and continuous improvement

Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on

Preferred (Not Required)

AA in accounting, finance and/or data science or similar

Prior experience in a municipal, government, or public sector environment

Exposure to accounting system implementations or upgrades

Background in process improvement, operations, or business analysis
