Family Law Attorney
Responsibilities:
• Advocate for clients in a range of family law proceedings, including divorce, custody, parenting time, support, adoption, and domestic violence matters.
• Prepare, revise, and file pleadings, motions, agreements, financial disclosures, and other case-related documents with accuracy and persuasive writing.
• Oversee a full caseload from initial strategy through settlement discussions, court appearances, and trial preparation.
• Research New Jersey statutes, case law, and procedural rules using legal research platforms to support litigation strategy and legal analysis.
• Conduct discovery, evaluate evidence, and develop case plans designed to protect client interests and advance favorable outcomes.
• Negotiate resolutions through settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution while balancing legal objectives with practical considerations.
• Maintain organized matter files, enter billable time consistently, and ensure all filings and deadlines are met in accordance with court requirements.
• Communicate promptly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court, providing timely updates and clear explanations throughout each matter.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New Jersey bar in good standing.• At least 5 years of hands-on experience practicing family law in New Jersey.
• Strong command of New Jersey family law procedure, substantive law, and courtroom practice.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, agreements, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Experience handling discovery, litigation strategy, and negotiated settlements in family law matters.
• Ability to manage multiple active cases efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of responsiveness to client needs.
Compensation
