Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting activities for an organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing routine entries, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in general ledger accounting, strong spreadsheet skills, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record daily and monthly journal entries to keep financial data accurate and up to date.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, organizing account activity, and resolving discrepancies.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate variances in a timely manner.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by gathering documentation and verifying account balances.
• Use QuickBooks Online to process accounting transactions, manage records, and generate financial reports.
• Build and update Excel spreadsheets to analyze financial information and track key accounting details.
• Assist with identifying and correcting accounting issues to improve reporting accuracy and internal consistency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

• 1+ year(s) of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

• Working knowledge of journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance.

• Experience using QuickBooks Online in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and data organization.

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and standard month-end procedures.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

$55,000.00-$60,000.00 Yearly
