sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core financial operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, managing billing and receivables activity, and contributing to budgeting and audit support processes. The ideal candidate brings strong Excel capabilities, a solid foundation in accounting principles, and the ability to work carefully with financial documentation and payment calculations.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner while resolving billing discrepancies as needed.
• Track outstanding accounts and follow up on receivables to help maintain healthy cash flow and accurate account balances.
• Develop, update, and support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and assisting with forecast-related reporting.
• Calculate payments using established guidelines and verify supporting details before processing or submission.
• Organize and maintain financial records and supporting documentation for client audit requests and internal review needs.
• Use advanced Excel functions to analyze accounting data, reconcile information, and create clear financial reports.
• Ensure daily accounting work aligns with GAAP standards and company policies for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.

• At least 2 years of accounting experience in a detail-focused business environment.

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standard financial controls.

• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, invoicing, and accounts receivable monitoring.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, spreadsheets, and financial analysis tools.

• Ability to calculate payments accurately and manage detailed financial documentation with a high level of precision.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to support audit-related requests effectively.
