Patient Accounting/Finance Manager
We are looking for an experienced Patient Accounting/Finance Manager to join an organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee on a long term contract basis. This position will provide hands-on leadership for finance and patient accounting operations, bringing strong oversight to revenue cycle activities, compliance-related processes, and day-to-day accounting management. The ideal candidate will combine healthcare finance expertise with the ability to guide a team, strengthen controls, and support specialized operational areas unique to the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the finance and patient accounting function, providing direction and oversight across daily operations and team priorities.
• Manage general ledger activity, month-end close processes, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee revenue cycle performance, including patient accounting workflows and third-party payer processes within a healthcare setting.
• Support and monitor specialized programs and financial activities, draw down processes, and required internal safety documentation.
• Review accounting controls, identify areas of risk, and perform audit-focused analysis to improve compliance and operational reliability.
• Partner with existing leadership and staff to provide financial oversight while helping remove administrative burden from senior management.
• Supervise fund administration and other core accounting functions to maintain organized records and sound financial practices.
• Offer practical guidance to the finance team on healthcare-specific accounting issues, helping maintain effective and consistent processes
Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required
• Demonstrated management experience in patient accounting, finance, or revenue cycle leadership within a healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management, month-end close, and core accounting operations.
• Experience working with third-party payer systems and reimbursement-related financial processes.
• Ability to evaluate financial controls, support audit activity, and identify process improvements.
• Background in fund administration and accounting management with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and provide operational oversight in an on-site setting.
