💰 $175,000 – $220,000 base salary DOE
⏰ Family Fridays – the firm closes at 1PM every Friday
An established fee-based wealth management firm is seeking a Financial Planning Manager to lead and elevate its financial planning function. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity within a client-centric advisory environment serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
The firm is known for delivering sophisticated investment management, disciplined financial planning, and white-glove client service. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and play a critical role in shaping the future of the planning department.
What This Role Looks Like
This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You will oversee complex financial planning engagements while helping standardize processes, mentor advisors, and drive operational excellence across the planning team.
You will:
- Lead and oversee the financial planning function
- Build consistency and accountability across planning deliverables
- Develop and mentor a high-performing planning team
- Ensure planning work is accurate, timely, and strategically valuable
- Improve workflows, systems, and planning processes
- Partner closely with senior leadership on firm-wide initiatives
Responsibilities
As the Financial Planning Manager, you will:
- Review and approve financial planning work
- Require revisions and maintain planning quality standards
- Redesign workflows and operational processes
- Reassign responsibilities when necessary
- Implement new planning standards and best practices
- Address performance issues directly and constructively
- Provide mentorship and leadership to financial planners and support staff
- Support advanced client planning conversations involving tax, estate, retirement, and cash flow strategies
Qualifications:
- Deep technical expertise in advanced financial planning
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent judgment in complex client situations
- A process-driven mindset with operational discipline
- Confidence and executive presence to enforce standards and drive accountability
Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of financial planning experience working with HNW clients
- 3–5+ years of leadership or team management experience
- CFP designation required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience using MoneyGuidePro
Nice to Have:
- Tax planning experience
- Estate planning knowledge
- Retirement and cash flow modeling expertise

Compensation
