The Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting our locum tenens (temp) neonatal nurse practitioners (NPs) and ensuring seamless coordination between NPs, clients, and internal teams. This position oversees licensing, credentialing, travel logistics, assignment documentation, and client communication to ensure providers are fully prepared and compliant for each engagement.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in healthcare staffing operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Licensing & Credentialing Support
- Guide locum tenens nurse practitioners through state licensing applications and renewals.
- Track application timelines, required documentation, and regulatory requirements by state.
- Coordinate hospital privileging processes, including gathering required documents and following up with medical staff offices.
- Maintain close, professional communication with client hospital credentialing staff to ensure timely processing of applications.
- Monitor credentialing progress and proactively resolve delays or documentation gaps.
- Maintain accurate records of all licenses, certifications, and privileging statuses.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and client-specific credentialing standards.
2. Travel Coordination
- Coordinate all provider travel arrangements through the company’s designated travel agency.
- Ensure flights, lodging, and transportation align with assignment schedules.
- Confirm travel details with nurse practitioners prior to assignment start dates.
- Troubleshoot travel issues and communicate changes promptly to all relevant parties.
3. Assignment Documentation & Shift Confirmation
- Prepare and distribute Confirmation of Shifts documents for each assignment.
- Ensure Confirmation of Shifts documents are signed by:
- The client facility
- The locum tenens nurse practitioner
- The company
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled shifts.
4. Client & Provider Communication
- Serve as a primary operational point of contact for locum nurse practitioners and clients.
- Participate in client meetings to provide updates on licensing, credentialing and assignment readiness.
- Provide proactive status updates to clients regarding provider onboarding and deployment timelines.
- Ensure all parties are informed of assignment details, expectations, and timelines.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with client hospital administrative and credentialing teams.
Qualifications
- High School Degree. Related college degree preferred (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field).
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare staffing, locum tenens, credentialing, or healthcare operations.
- Experience working directly with hospital credentialing departments preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service experience is a plus
