Tax Manager - Public

Compensation: $85 to $115 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead a broad range of tax activities for our team. This position plays a central role in maintaining accurate filings, guiding tax strategy, and helping the organization respond effectively to regulatory developments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work closely with accounting, finance, and external advisors.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the preparation and final review of tax returns for business entities and other applicable filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Monitor federal, state, and local tax obligations and maintain compliance by applying current rules and filing requirements.
• Develop practical tax planning approaches that support business objectives while reducing exposure and identifying potential savings.
• Manage responses to audits, notices, and other inquiries from tax authorities, coordinating documentation and communication as needed.
• Analyze new and changing tax laws to assess their impact and recommend appropriate actions for the organization.
• Contribute to tax provision work, financial reporting activities, and close processes during month-end and year-end cycles.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and skills development support to tax team members when applicable.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and outside advisors to address tax matters, improve processes, and support entity-related activities such as formation needs.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience managing tax compliance and reporting within a public accounting or similar structured environment.
• Strong knowledge of annual income tax provision processes and related financial reporting considerations.
• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx and CCH Sales Tax for tax preparation, compliance, or reporting activities.
• Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing corporate tax returns with a high level of accuracy.
• Understanding of entity formation concepts and the related tax implications for business structures.
• Ability to interpret tax regulations, research technical issues, and apply findings to practical business situations.
• Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple deadlines.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$115,000.00 Yearly
