Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support a small, relationship‑driven CPA firm serving multiple small‑to‑mid‑sized clients. The position requires an experienced accounting professional who can operate independently, manage multiple client accounts, and serve as a trusted resource for both clients and firm leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage full‑cycle bookkeeping and accounting for multiple small business clients across various industries.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, monthly and quarterly closings, and preparation of internal financial statements.
• Perform and review bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations with minimal oversight.
• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries, accruals, and depreciation schedules.
• Serve as a primary client contact for day‑to‑day accounting questions, issue resolution, and documentation requests.
• Support individual and business tax preparation by organizing workpapers, reconciling accounts, and assisting with tax‑ready financials.
• Review work completed by junior staff or contractors and provide guidance as needed.
• Maintain and clean up QuickBooks files, including historical corrections and process improvements.
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to accounting workflows and client processes.

Qualifications:

Required Experience & Qualifications

7–10 years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment.

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online), including file clean‑ups and multi‑entity management.

Strong understanding of small business accounting, GAAP fundamentals, and tax‑related accounting considerations.

Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously with competing deadlines.

Comfortable working independently with a high level of accountability and discretion.

Prior experience interfacing directly with business owners, partners, and CPAs.

Public accounting or CPA‑firm experience strongly preferred; CPA or EA a plus but not required.

Compensation

$70,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
