Accounting Manager/Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting in California. This role is well suited for a hands-on leader who can guide close activities, strengthen internal controls, and partner with cross-functional teams on key financial initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting knowledge, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to contribute to strategic efforts such as audit readiness, process improvement, and complex finance-related projects.
Responsibilities:
• Direct day-to-day accounting functions across payables, receivables, payroll, and financial reporting to maintain accurate and efficient operations.
• Manage the month-end close by preparing, reviewing, and evaluating journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Produce periodic financial statements and ensure reporting is completed accurately for monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.
• Maintain adherence to applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company financial policies.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance review to provide leadership with meaningful financial insights.
• Coordinate audit activities, serve as the primary contact for external auditors, and support the completion of audit deliverables.
• Strengthen accounting workflows and internal control practices by identifying opportunities for greater consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability and continued growth within the team.
• Collaborate with finance and operational partners on special projects, system enhancements, ad hoc reporting, and other business-critical initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with prior exposure to restaurant or hospitality environments considered helpful.
• At least 3 years of experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
• Strong command of general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Familiarity with audit processes, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with accounting systems, including Sage Intacct as a preferred platform.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and comfort using financial tools for analysis and reporting.
• CPA designation, public accounting background, experience supporting IPO, M& A, or investor relations activities.
Compensation
