Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Georgia. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities with accuracy while contributing to tax and general ledger functions. The role offers the chance to work across key accounting processes and help maintain strong financial reporting and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial data.
• Support corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and assisting with tax return preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, preparing filings, and helping ensure timely compliance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks to keep reporting deadlines on track.
• Review financial information for accuracy and consistency, making corrections when needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support and respond to financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a staff accounting or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of corporate tax principles and exposure to corporate tax return support.
• Hands-on experience with sales tax preparation, review, or filing activities.
• Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
• Ability to identify errors, research issues, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis.

Compensation

$26.91-$31.16 Hourly
