Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in a contract-to-permanent role. This opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist who enjoys hands-on work across core financial processes while building long-term stability with a growing organization. The role offers exposure to daily accounting operations, reporting support, and close-cycle activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Handle daily accounting activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain a reliable general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end close procedures by organizing records and resolving outstanding items.
• Process invoices, payments, customer receipts, and related account activity across payables and receivables.
• Create financial reports and supporting documentation for management review and operational decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting tasks, forecast updates, and audit preparation by compiling required financial information.
• Review accounting data to identify variances, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective action.
• Contribute to process enhancements, special assignments, and system-related accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of accounting experience in areas such as reconciliations, reporting, payables, or receivables.
• Practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general accounting functions.
• Ability to prepare and review account reconciliations with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working within accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a detail-oriented business setting.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to perform effectively in new environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation

$22.16-$25.66 Hourly
