Fractional HR Business Partner
A multi-state, multi-unit food service client is seeking a Fractional HR Manager / HR Business Partner to ensure continuity of HR operations across a large, distributed workforce, while delivering both strategic partnership and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment. This is a 4-5 month engagement with estimated 15-20 hours a week commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interim HR Leadership
- Serve as the primary HR lead in the absence of the HR Director
- Partner with leadership teams to support day-to-day HR operations across multiple states
- Team Oversight & Coaching
- Provide guidance and oversight to a team of HR professionals
- Conduct 1–2x weekly check-ins to align on priorities, provide coaching, and ensure execution
- Employee Relations
- Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations and performance management
- Advise on policy interpretation, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution
- Workers’ Compensation & General Liability
- Oversee and manage complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive timely resolution and ensure compliance
- HRIS Implementation Support
- Assist with ongoing HRIS implementation (Paylocity preferred), including:
- Data review, cleanup, and preparation for migration
- Testing and go-live readiness
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support a successful rollout
- Availability & Responsiveness
- Maintain flexibility to provide support during evenings and weekends as needed, supporting the operating environment
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner or HR leadership roles
- Experience in food service, hospitality, or retail industries
- Strong expertise in employee relations and investigations within multi-site environments
- Experience managing workers’ compensation and liability claims
- Experience supporting HRIS implementations (Paylocity strongly preferred)
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically
