Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including payables, receivables, client billing, cash handling, and related financial transactions.
• Guide and support project accounting staff while helping maintain consistent, accurate financial practices across the team.
• Work closely with principals and project managers to prepare and release invoices that align with contract terms, while monitoring project financial performance and identifying issues that may affect budgets or profitability.
• Review project-related accounts, prepare journal entries, and reconcile financial data to maintain complete and accurate records throughout the life of each engagement.
• Maintain contract files, budget information, and project financial documentation within Deltek Vantagepoint to support reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
• Serve as the internal administrator for Deltek Vantagepoint SaaS, including user access, permissions, workflow settings, security controls, and module setup.
• Resolve system issues, coordinate with vendor support, and improve reporting tools, dashboards, templates, and automated processes to strengthen firm operations.
• Train employees on Deltek functionality and provide ongoing guidance as the primary internal resource for system-related questions, enhancements, and upgrades.
• Partner with HR on payroll support activities by assisting with data entry, validation, reconciliation, and the accuracy of timesheets, labor allocations, and payroll-related records.
• Help support accurate and timely 401(k) reporting and contribution processing through careful data review and coordination with HR and external plan contacts.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or another project-based services setting.• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial management for projects with multiple budgets, contracts, and billing requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint as an administrator or highly proficient user.
• Familiarity with payroll support processes and employee benefits administration, including 401(k) reporting, is preferred.
• Associate degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant certification.
• Strong attention to detail, sound analytical ability, and a consistent record of producing accurate financial work.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work confidently with project teams, HR partners, and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel and Word.
Compensation
