Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support a growing service organization in Monmouth County, New Jersey. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate financial processing, stays organized in a fast-paced setting, and is comfortable working with routine accounting tasks. The position begins on a part-time basis, with the potential for expanded responsibilities and increased hours over time based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Enter vendor invoices and payable information into QuickBooks with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Review billing documents for completeness and organize records to support day-to-day accounts payable activities.
• Prepare checks for payment and help ensure invoices and recurring bills are paid according to schedule.
• Maintain orderly financial files and update payment details so accounting records remain current and reliable.
• Assist with additional clerical and accounting-related duties each week as priorities shift.
• Communicate with internal team members as needed to clarify invoice details, payment status, and supporting documentation.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in accounts payable, accounting support, or a similar finance-related position.• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and confidence entering financial data into accounting systems.
• Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to manage part-time responsibilities effectively while adapting to changing workload demands.
• Comfort handling routine payment processing tasks such as check preparation and bill payment support.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to keep financial records orderly and up to date.
Compensation
