Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and reconciling financial transactions to support complete and accurate accounting records.
• Manage high-volume accounts payable activities, including detailed invoice review, coding validation, and data corrections as needed.
• Oversee cash management tasks such as wire activity, online banking transactions, and bank account reconciliations.
• Administer fixed asset and lease accounting, including additions, disposals, tracking schedules, and related account reconciliations.
• Prepare quarterly schedules, supporting documentation, and other audit-ready materials for external review.
• Coordinate responses and documentation for sales tax and property tax examinations conducted by government agencies.
• Analyze inventory balances and cost activity each quarter, research variances, and record appropriate accounting entries.
• Review branch-level transaction postings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in calculations, classifications, or account treatment.
• Produce monthly financial statements and complete required government filings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide broader accounting support as needed, including cross-functional collaboration and backup assistance for other finance responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger activity, month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, inventory reconciliation, cost analysis, sales tax, and property tax processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to work efficiently in detailed spreadsheets.
• Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and a dependable approach to meeting deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
