Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing organization in Pennsylvania. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced accounting environment and can manage a substantial invoice volume with precision and urgency. The role requires strong experience in accounts payable operations, financial data review, and payment processing, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including reviewing, coding, and entering a high volume of invoices accurately and on time.
• Process weekly invoice activity of approximately 1,000 transactions while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting department deadlines.
• Prepare and execute vendor payments through ACH and check runs in accordance with established schedules and controls.
• Reconcile invoice details, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payment-related issues by working closely with internal teams and external vendors.
• Use Sage Intacct and Excel to organize financial information, support reporting needs, and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
• Analyze payable data and assist with preparing reports that support accounting operations and decision-making.
• Ensure invoices are properly classified to the correct accounts and aligned with internal financial procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to prioritize urgent items and support smooth daily AP operations.
Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience in accounts payable with a strong understanding of invoice processing, account coding, and payment workflows.• Proven ability to manage high-volume invoice processing in a deadline-driven environment.
• Working knowledge of Sage Intacct and strong Excel skills for data review, tracking, and reporting.
• Experience handling ACH payments and check runs with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and apply sound problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Capable of balancing multiple priorities while working independently in a structured office environment.
Compensation
