Plaintiff Paralegal
Responsibilities:
• Oversee a substantial plaintiff-side caseload by monitoring progress, organizing next steps, and helping matters advance on schedule.
• Serve as a regular point of contact for clients, providing timely updates, answering questions, and maintaining a calm, organized presence throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare and distribute written communications such as status updates, correspondence, and other case-related documents for clients and legal stakeholders.
• Manage discovery workflow from start to finish, including drafting materials, coordinating document gathering, organizing productions, and applying Bates labeling accurately.
• Work closely with outside vendors and opposing counsel to facilitate document exchanges, scheduling, and other litigation-related coordination.
• Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, mediations, and other case events by compiling materials and ensuring supporting documents are ready.
• Maintain complete and current case records in Clio and related platforms, keeping calendars, deadlines, and files organized and accurate.
• Support court filing activity, including electronic submissions and related document handling, in accordance with applicable procedures.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in plaintiff-side civil litigation, with mass tort or wildfire matters considered highly valuable.• Demonstrated success supporting multiple attorneys at once in an active, deadline-driven legal environment.
• Strong background in case coordination, including docket tracking, calendar management, and file organization.
• Practical experience handling discovery tasks, document collection, production management, and Bates numbering.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and opposing counsel using sound judgment and clear communication.
• Proven skill in speaking with clients in a composed and reassuring manner, especially when matters are sensitive or high pressure.
• Proficiency with Clio, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
Compensation
