Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a finance team in Tennessee. This role is well suited for a highly organized individual who can manage core accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting along with hands-on experience in month-end close and reconciliations. Exposure to manufacturing and inventory accounting would be beneficial in this position.

Responsibilities:
• Lead recurring close activities by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and helping ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording and validating accounting transactions in accordance with established policies and reporting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support while investigating and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis to confirm the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Reconcile bank activity and research variances to ensure cash records align with supporting documentation.
• Support annual inventory processes by assisting with counts, valuation review, and related accounting adjustments.
• Contribute to financial reporting and provide analysis that helps explain period-end results and key balance sheet movements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting workflows and strengthen the reliability of financial information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a senior-level or progressive accounting role.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Strong background in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes.
• Ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial data and meet established deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
