Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to financial planning, reporting, and analysis while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate expertise in preparing detailed financial statements and supporting audits.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for assigned projects.

• Complete journal entries, ensuring accuracy in transferring and posting accounts payable and inventory transactions, and maintain supporting documentation.

• Perform detailed reconciliations of multiple accounts, maintaining general ledger accuracy and ensuring all monthly activities are accounted for.

• Assist in the development of business plans and financial models by providing technical analysis and insights.

• Coordinate year-end audits and facilitate the review process with external auditors.

• Research and interpret accounting standards, analyzing their implications and supporting accurate financial reporting.

• Consolidate financial statements and present findings through clear written and verbal communication formats.

• Utilize computer-based tools to create reports, graphs, and charts for financial presentations.

• Undertake special projects, developing tailored financial models as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial reporting and analysis.
• Expertise in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
• Proficient in account and bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
• CPA designation and public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting financial insights.

Compensation

$95,000.00-$110,000.00 Yearly
