Position Description

Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a primary care internist interested in joining a busy outpatient practice at a satellite clinic in a growing area of this city, which will be a joint effort between TTUHSC Internal Medicine and Family Practice. This position will feature a hybrid compensation model in a busy practice setting. This individual will be fully affiliated as faculty with Texas Tech HSC but will have few traditional academic responsibilities.

Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Clinical responsibilities will include developing an outpatient primary care practice within the outpatient clinic or at a satellite location.
  • Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care management in primary faculty clinics as well as the supervision of our internal medicine residents in their continuity of care clinics.
  • Teach internal medicine residents and medical students within the clinic and participate in educational conferences as determined by the Department Chair.
  • Work with institutional staff and administration to attain the strategic objectives of the Department of Internal Medicine, including patient safety, patient and other customer satisfaction, maintenance and enhancement of public perception, and fiscal health.
  • Comply in a timely manner with all institutional policies for professional work, including credentialing, documentation, and billing.
  • Work effectively with other members of the extended inter-professional team.


Required Qualifications

  • MD, DO or MBBS.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
