Civil Litigation Defense Attorney

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded civil litigation firm in Seattle that is seeking an Associate to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator to step into a high-impact role with meaningful responsibility and strong mentorship.

Position Overview

The firm is looking for a talented attorney with solid litigation experience and exceptional advocacy skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly analytical, and is eager to take on increasing levels of responsibility while working collaboratively within a team-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery
• Handle depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients in both pre-litigation and active dispute contexts
• Collaborate closely with partners, paralegals, and support staff to deliver high-quality client service

Qualifications

• 1+ years of litigation experience
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active admission to the Washington State Bar (Oregon State Bar admission is a plus)
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters independently

Preferred Experience

• Background in civil defense litigation
• Experience with insurance-related matters and extra-contractual claims preferred
• Familiarity with all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial
• Prior judicial clerkship or court experience is a plus

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in Washington

• At least 1 year of litigation experience, with the ability to manage files with increasing independence.

• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills demonstrated through effective advocacy and legal drafting.

• Background in civil defense litigation, including experience with discovery, depositions, arbitration, and trial-related work.

Compensation

$105,000.00-$165,000.00 Yearly
