Attorney/Lawyer

We are looking for an attorney with strong experience in commercial contracts and real estate matters to join a well-established organization in South Carolina. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with legal forms, member education, and practical risk management in a collaborative onsite environment with limited travel. The role is ideal for a licensed lawyer who communicates confidently, enjoys advising stakeholders, and brings a careful approach to drafting, reviewing, and improving legal documents.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and revise commercial and real estate-related agreements to support organizational and member needs.

• Maintain and improve a large library of standardized legal forms, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and clear language across documents.

• Partner with internal teams and field users to evaluate how forms are working in practice and recommend updates based on legal and operational feedback.

• Provide guidance on real estate legal matters through training, education sessions, and responsive support to stakeholders.

• Develop presentations, videos, and other educational materials to explain contract updates, legal changes, and best practices.

• Conduct recurring reviews of legal documents to identify potential liability concerns and strengthen risk mitigation efforts.

• Support updates tied to compensation structures, commercial transactions, and other evolving real estate requirements.

• Participate in regular meetings and occasional industry events, with limited travel during the year.

Qualifications:

• Active license to practice law.
• Experience handling commercial contracts and real estate legal matters.
• Ability to interpret, draft, and edit legal documents with a high level of precision.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills for training and educational outreach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented approach to document management and legal review.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite team setting while managing multiple priorities.
