Complex Commercial Litigation Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Draft, edit, and organize complex legal documents, forms, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
• Manage electronic court filings for both state and federal cases, ensuring compliance with procedural rules.
• Coordinate conflict checks and facilitate the opening of new matters for attorneys.
• Prepare tables of contents and authorities, exhibits, and trial binders to support case preparation.
• Maintain accurate docketing and calendar entries using specialized software to track important deadlines.
• Establish and manage both physical and electronic client files for easy access and organization.
• Collaborate with the accounting department to prepare expense reports and finalize monthly billing.
• Provide support in preparing attorneys for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Handle special projects and overflow tasks while contributing to team objectives.
• Arrange courier services and manage internal and external functions as needed.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a medium to large law firm setting.• High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of California and federal court procedures and filing systems.
• Proficiency in electronic calendaring and docketing software, such as Compulaw or Milana.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Exceptional proofreading, editing, and redlining capabilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
Compensation
