Grants Director
Responsibilities:
• Create and direct a comprehensive grants plan that supports organizational priorities and anticipated funding needs.
• Manage a large portfolio of more than 30 grants and contracts representing over $7 million in revenue.
• Identify and evaluate funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other grantmaking sources.
• Lead the full grant lifecycle, including proposal development, submission, award oversight, and required follow-up reporting.
• Maintain a detailed schedule of deadlines and deliverables to keep applications, renewals, and reports on track and compliant.
• Work closely with finance leadership to prepare proposal budgets, assemble financial materials, and monitor restricted funding.
• Cultivate productive relationships with funders, public agencies, and community partners to expand long-term support.
• Serve as an external representative at meetings and events to communicate the organization’s mission and build funding visibility.
• Keep thorough grant records and provide regular updates to leadership and the Board on funding activity and program outcomes.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in high volume grant writing, grant administration, or related fundraising work, preferably within a nonprofit / government environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; advanced education or grant-related certification is preferred.
• Demonstrated success overseeing complex grant portfolios that include federal, state, local, or private funding sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of securing substantial grant awards.
• Experience coordinating grant compliance and program operations, including work connected to Medicaid billing requirements.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort using fundraising or financial systems such as Bloomerang and NetSuite.
• Ability to develop strong partnerships with funders, stakeholders, and cross-functional internal teams.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, including budgeting, variance review, and data-informed decision-making.
Compensation
