Senior Accountant

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity with one of our clients. This role will support core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries
• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts and bank accounts
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial data, research variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Support audit requests and maintain accurate documentation
• Assist with process improvements and strengthening internal controls
• Partner with cross-functional teams on accounting and reporting needs
• Support other general accounting functions as needed

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level or progressive accounting role
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Microsoft D365, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Workday
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Experience supporting month-end close, audit, and financial statement preparation
