Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract with the potential for a long-term position. Based in Fresno, California, this role involves a variety of accounting responsibilities, including managing financial records, preparing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Manage sales tax reporting and filing requirements in a timely manner.
• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities to support financial reporting deadlines.
• Prepare trial balances and assist in financial audits as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
• Ensure all financial records adhere to organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings.

• Strong understanding of journal entries, general ledger, and financial reporting processes.

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

• Familiarity with month-end and year-end close procedures.

• Ability to prepare trial balances and support year-end reporting activities.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Compensation

$26.60-$30.80 Hourly
