Associate
Responsibilities:
• Prepare motions, pleadings, and discovery responses with minimal oversight while maintaining strong legal accuracy and organization.
• Analyze insurance coverage issues involving first-party and third-party claims and develop clear legal positions based on policy language and applicable law.
• Draft reservation of rights letters, declaratory judgment filings, and related coverage documents for active matters.
• Support litigation strategy in bad faith and coverage disputes, including research and written advocacy for state and federal court proceedings.
• Assist with deposition preparation and other case development tasks tied to civil litigation matters.
• Manage assigned work independently within project timelines, including an initial workload expected to range from approximately 40 to 80 hours.
• Collaborate with legal team members in a remote or hybrid setting to ensure timely progress across active assignments.
Qualifications:
• Active license to practice law in Texas required.
• 4 to 10 years of experience as an attorney handling insurance coverage, insurance defense, or closely related civil litigation matters.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions and discovery materials without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of reservation of rights letters, declaratory judgment actions, and bad faith claims.
• Experience supporting litigation matters in both state and federal court.
• Strong background in civil litigation, including case analysis, legal research, and written advocacy.
• Prior deposition experience and the ability to manage substantive legal tasks independently.
