Tax Manager - Public

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Tax Manager to join an organizations team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape our tax practice while fostering growth within the firm and mentoring new team members. We are seeking a candidate committed to building strong client relationships and driving excellence in tax advisory services.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of multiple tax engagements, managing them from the initial planning stages through to completion.

• Review and prepare complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries.

• Act as a technical expert, staying updated on tax regulations and providing guidance to the team.

• Oversee workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure smooth project execution.

• Mentor and train staff at the beginning of their careers, encouraging skill development and building a strong team.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to offer advisory services.

• Collaborate directly with the Tax Partner to align on strategic goals and enhance client service delivery.

• Monitor industry updates and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and proactive adjustments.

• Utilize tax software, such as CCH ProSystem Fx, to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
• Proven ability to review and prepare complex personal, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Prior experience supervising and mentoring staff.
• Proficiency in tax software tools, such as CCH ProSystem Fx, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach.

Compensation

$120,000.00-$150,000.00 Yearly
