Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for our team in North Carolina. This position is ideal for a finance candidate with early-career experience who can manage day-to-day ledger activity, assist with tax-related work, and help maintain accurate financial records. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to monthly accounting processes while partnering with internal stakeholders to keep reporting and compliance activities on track.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial data.
• Support corporate tax activities, including the preparation of schedules and documentation used for tax filings.
• Assist with sales tax reporting by gathering transaction data, reviewing records, and helping meet filing deadlines.
• Participate in month-end accounting tasks, including account analysis and balance review.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and provide support during audits or internal reviews.
• Work with team members across departments to clarify accounting information and resolve posting issues.
• Contribute to special accounting projects and process improvements as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax concepts and support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Experience assisting with sales tax reporting and related documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines accurately.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Compensation

$70,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
