Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $100 to $115 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will oversee various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in reporting and analysis. This position will play a key role in property accounting, financial statement preparation, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and conduct budget-to-actual analyses.
• Manage property accounting tasks throughout the real estate lifecycle, including acquisitions, construction, capitalization, and property sales or dispositions.
• Oversee financial transactions, bank reconciliations, timely invoice payments, and the establishment of accruals and prepaid expenses.
• Process application fees and manage security deposit funds in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and monitor accounts receivable for discrepancies.
• Collaborate with property management teams on eviction processes when necessary.
• Handle loan payments and ensure adherence to all loan compliance requirements.
• Process expense reimbursements while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
• Support audits and financial reviews conducted by external auditors.
• Provide financial data and deliverables to investors, banks, tax preparers, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

• A minimum of 5 years of detail-oriented experience, preferably in multifamily property management or real estate.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency in general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial systems.

• Advanced skills in creating and analyzing complex spreadsheets.

• Yardi is a huge plus!

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.


Compensation

$100,000.00-$115,000.00 Yearly
