In House Counsel
We are looking for an experienced In-House Counsel to join a global company. The attorney in this role will provide expert legal guidance on labor and employment matters, compliance programs, and corporate policies. This role requires a strategic thinker who can advise on complex legal issues, support human resources, and contribute to the organization’s compliance and ethics initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Offer strategic and timely legal advice on labor and employment matters to management and human resources.
• Provide counsel on collective bargaining processes and labor agreement administration.
• Handle discrimination and harassment claims, including responses to agency charges.
• Ensure compliance with labor and employment laws, including anti-discrimination, wage and hour regulations, and equal employment opportunity requirements.
• Develop and deliver training for managers and HR professionals on labor law and compliance best practices.
• Draft and review legal documents such as employment agreements, non-compete clauses, and other contracts.
• Support the implementation and management of the company’s global compliance and ethics program.
• Create, update, and enforce corporate policies and procedures to align with legal standards.
• Lead internal investigations, maintain documentation, and ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.
• Manage costs associated with external legal services and employment litigation to ensure efficiency
Qualifications:
• Licensed attorney with a prior in-house experience and strong background in labor and employment law.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience handling employment discrimination, litigation, and compliance matters.
• Demonstrated expertise in advising on employment law issues, including employer obligations and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage employee relations investigations and provide sound, practical guidance.
• Experience drafting a wide range of legal documents, including employment and non-compete agreements.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and ethics programs, including policy development and training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
