Attorney/Lawyer
Responsibilities:
• Handle a broad range of immigration cases, including both proactive filings and defense-oriented matters, with responsibility for cases of varying complexity.
• Advise clients through consultations, evaluate case strategy, and communicate practical legal recommendations throughout the life of each matter.
• Advocate for clients before relevant immigration agencies, the Department of State, and in court proceedings when required.
• Appear at interviews, hearings, and other official proceedings, preparing clients thoroughly and representing their interests effectively.
• Review and direct the work of paralegals and support staff to ensure filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
• Prepare persuasive legal documents such as case summaries, motions, memoranda, and appellate-style briefs for agency and court matters.
• Contribute to federal litigation efforts, including matters involving delayed adjudications, constitutional claims, and detention-related petitions, with increasing ownership over time.
• Partner with senior attorneys on legal research, case planning, and high-stakes immigration matters that require deeper analysis or litigation strategy.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.• At least 5 years of immigration law experience, including substantial exposure to removal defense work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage an active caseload independently and consistently meet filing and court deadlines.
• Experience handling matters before key immigration agencies and representing clients in interviews and hearings.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills, with the ability to draft motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
• Prior experience supervising or reviewing the work of paralegals, legal assistants, or other support staff.
• Solid understanding of immigration statutes, procedural rules, and agency requirements.
• Federal court litigation experience, Spanish language skills, or familiarity with employment-based immigration matters are valued.
Compensation
