Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations for non-domestic entities and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Review general ledger activity to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with monthly close requirements.
• Prepare and evaluate journal entries and adjusting entries to support accurate financial statements.
• Analyze account fluctuations by comparing current-period results against prior periods and investigating significant variances.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other key balance sheet accounts to maintain strong financial controls.
• Support month-end close activities, including balance sheet review and documentation of outstanding issues.
• Prepare clear reconciliation schedules and account support using advanced Excel functions and organized workpapers.
• Partner with the accounting team to provide additional coverage and help manage workload in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger and month-end close processes.• Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including work related to international or non-domestic entities.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, adjusting entries, account analysis, and variance investigation.
• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet review procedures.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize large data sets and produce accurate supporting schedules.
• Background in commercial real estate or a related property-focused environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver accurate results in a short-staffed team setting.
