Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $75 to $85 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for assigned entities in Hampshire, Illinois. This role will manage key close activities, maintain general ledger integrity, and partner with business stakeholders on cash flow visibility and account analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong month-end close experience, sound judgment with journal entries and reconciliations, and a proactive approach to improving accuracy across daily accounting activities.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close cycle for designated companies, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are complete.

• Maintain general ledger activity by reviewing, updating, and reconciling transactions related to revenue, payroll, and operating costs.

• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals, deferrals, prepaid expenses, and other routine accounting adjustments.

• Apply consistent account coding practices to support accurate expense reporting and alignment with the established chart of accounts.

• Provide oversight to daily and weekly cash application and bank reconciliation work performed by offshore accounting support.

• Review short-term cash flow projections and accounts payable coding each week in coordination with member company controllers.

• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for accounts such as prepaids, accrued liabilities, and corporate card activity.

• Investigate discrepancies, resolve reconciling items, and help strengthen the accuracy of financial data across the close process.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on month-end close activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries.
• Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Background in bank reconciliations and cash-related accounting processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting recurring deadlines.
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles and balance sheet analysis.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
