AV Technician - Junior
Description
The AV Technician - Junior supports SEC ISS customer service delivery by ensuring AV/VTC services are operational, reliable, and ready for mission use across conference rooms, auditoriums, and multipurpose spaces. This role maintains front-end AV/VTC components, supports SEC cloud conferencing platforms and collaboration tools defined within contract/PWS scope (including Webex and Teams where implemented), and provides direct user assistance for meetings and collaboration sessions. The technician also supports major events and commission activities with live audio/video production, streaming, and post-production editing aligned to SEC quality standards. Work is performed within established SOPs and contract/PWS ticket-driven service processes to sustain service levels and user productivity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
AV/VTC Operations and Room Readiness
- Provide day-to-day front-end support for AV/VTC systems in meeting rooms, auditoriums, and multipurpose spaces.
- Proactively verify readiness of room technology, including displays, microphones, conference phones, cameras, and control interfaces.
- Maintain functionality of supported conferencing environments (including Webex and contract/PWS-directed Teams implementations) and escalate issues per SOP.
- Troubleshoot AV/VTC incidents quickly to minimize user disruption and restore service.
User Support and Service Delivery
- Field and resolve end-user questions on AV/VTC equipment and collaboration tools, including Cisco Webex and contract/PWS-directed Microsoft Teams support.
- Deliver on-site support for scheduled meetings, briefings, and high-visibility sessions.
- Document issues, actions, and resolutions in the SEC ticketing workflow in accordance with ISS service-delivery practices.
- Communicate clearly with users and stakeholders on issue status, workarounds, and resolution timelines.
Event Execution and Media Production
- Perform event scheduling coordination, technical setup, and pre-event checks for AV/VTC-supported events.
- Support live video/audio directing for town halls, commission meetings, and other major SEC events.
- Manage live streaming/webcast support and facilitate coordination for captioning/sign-language services when required.
- Conduct post-production editing of recorded events and office/division content to meet SEC quality expectations.
Equipment Lifecycle and Maintenance
- Install, upgrade, refresh, repair, and retire AV equipment across supported SEC spaces.
- Perform minor hardware repairs and routine cleaning to keep AV assets in reliable operating condition.
- Track recurring issues and support preventive maintenance activities to reduce repeat incidents.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for replacements, advanced repairs, and service continuity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.
-High school diploma. In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.
-Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.
- 2+ years of experience providing front-end AV/VTC support, including managing, deploying, and troubleshooting AV/VTC equipment.
- Experience supporting AV/VTC operations in conference rooms, auditoriums, and multipurpose spaces.
- Experience performing event setup, live broadcast support, and post-production editing.
- Matrix-required baseline: AV/VTC system operation, including managing, deploying, and troubleshooting front-end AV/VTC equipment.
- Matrix-required baseline: Skills and knowledge capable of operating AV/VTC systems across meeting rooms, auditoriums, and multipurpose spaces.
- Matrix-required baseline: End-user support for AV/VTC equipment and collaboration tool usage, including Webex.
- Matrix-required baseline: Event setup support, live broadcast production, post-production editing, and minor AV equipment repair/cleaning.
- PWS-expanded environment (contract-directed): Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams support where implemented.
- PWS-expanded environment (contract-directed): Conference room AV components (displays, microphones, cameras, conference phones) and room-readiness verification.
- PWS-expanded environment (contract-directed): Ticket-based service documentation and escalation in SEC ISS workflows.
- PWS-expanded environment (contract-directed): Live streaming/webcast support for SEC events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting AV/VTC services in a federal enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting high-visibility executive events, including open/closed commission-style meetings.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow-based incident/request workflows and SLA-driven service delivery in contract/PWS environments.
- Preferred familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Cisco conference room kits.
- AVIXA CTS or similar AV industry certification.
- AVIXA CTS certification.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- Microsoft Teams Rooms or Cisco Webex administration certification.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
