Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with government accounting requirements.
• Perform account, general ledger, and bank reconciliations while resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including transaction review, tracking, and follow-up.
• Record and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with budget-related accounting tasks by monitoring actuals, supporting forecasts, and analyzing variances.
• Participate in internal and government audit activities by gathering documentation, answering inquiries, and supporting compliance efforts.
• Maintain organized financial records and strengthen accounting controls to support reporting integrity and audit readiness.
• Use Tyler Technologies Munis and related accounting systems to process transactions, research issues, and produce required reports.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including substantial work in a senior-level accounting capacity.• Prior experience in government or public sector accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to complete account and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Proven background in preparing financial statements and supporting audit activities.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes, annual budget support, and financial variance analysis.
• Experience working with Tyler Technologies Munis is preferred.
Compensation
