Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support accounting operations. This contract opportunity is ideal for a finance specialist who can oversee core bookkeeping activities across multiple small entities while maintaining accuracy and strong financial controls. The position will play an important role in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and month-end processes, working closely with leadership to keep records current and reliable.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger for three small companies, ensuring financial records are organized, accurate, and up to date.
• Process vendor invoices, payment activity, and related documentation to support timely and accurate accounts payable operations.
• Manage customer billing, cash application, and follow-up activity to keep accounts receivable current and well documented.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting activity and period-end accuracy.
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including account review, balance validation, and reporting support.
• Produce clear financial information for management and communicate accounting updates to the reporting leader as needed.
• Use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to manage transactions and maintain financial data integrity.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a hands-on business environment.
• Associate degree required in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Practical experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and consistently.
• Experience supporting multiple entities or business units with competing priorities.
• Proficiency with one or more accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.3
